Statement on Brexit

Ideagen is a global supplier of regulatory and compliance solutions that provide a common software platform and an integrated risk-based approach to meet multi-industry standards, enabling compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations. Ideagen has 600 employees, focused primarily in 4 functional centres of excellence: Nottingham, Glasgow, Raleigh and Kuala Lumpur, with additional offices in the UK, US, Bulgaria, Ireland and the Middle East.

Since the Brexit referendum, Ideagen has worked hard to ensure that customer service levels and product development will continue unaffected regardless of the outcome of the UK and EU negotiations. Although the Head Quarters for the Ideagen Group are based in the UK, the underlying entity structure supporting the Ideagen Group is global; and this combined with a global workforce ensures the company is both agile and at low risk to all Brexit outcomes.

While we are still in the transition period which is expected to end on the 31st December 2020, Ideagen continues to abide by EU laws and regulations and is closely monitoring the on-going negotiations on the future trade relationship between the UK and the EU.

To ensure we have the relevant measures in place to counteract any impact associated with Brexit, our risk and compliance team have carried out a detailed risk assessment and impact assessment. Please see below for an overview of the key areas that were assessed:

Data Protection

Unless otherwise provided for in the Withdrawal Agreement between the UK and the EU, Ideagen will continue to adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 as well as other applicable data protection laws.

Cloud Computing Services

EU customer’s data is stored in infrastructure provided by industry leading hosting providers, which are located in the EU and in the UK as well in the US and other key jurisdictions. We have carried out detailed due diligence in relation to data sovereignty to ensure data will reside in the relevant jurisdictions and that data transfers to other jurisdictions have adequate protection or have in place the appropriate standard contractual clauses.

Software Supply

As software is digital, Ideagen does not foresee any impact on its ability to supply software as it will not be affected by any import/export restrictions. Ideagen is a software development organisation and its products are developed in a number of jurisdictions around the world.

Ideagen has a global customer base of over 6000 organisations, some of whom are located in the EU. As a result, services that are required to be carried out within the EU will be fulfilled by our offices within the EU.

Employees and Contractors

Ideagen is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and as such there are a number of EU nationals among Ideagen’s contractors and its 600 employees. Ideagen is working with these individuals to ensure that the appropriate visas are in place where required.

On-going review

Brexit remains a permanent item on the agenda for both the monthly Board Meetings and the weekly Executive Team Meetings.
